The research has synthesized anew type of mesoporous zeolite material ZMQ-1 (Zeolitic Materials, Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, No.1). This breakthrough has overcome the limitations of the pore size of synthesized zeolite, providing a brand-new development path for energy conversion and utilization. The related results were published inNatureon December 12, 2024.
The ZMQ-1 has high thermal and hydrothermal stability, and abundant medium-strong B acid sites. In the catalytic cracking reaction of heavy oil, compared with commercial zeolitescatalysts, the phosphorus-containing ZMQ-1 shows higher selectivity for light fuels (gasoline and diesel), and produces less coke, liquefied petroleum gas, and dry gas as by-products. The successful preparation of this new zeolite provides new ideas and directions for the development ofzeolitic materials. Its unique mesoporous structure and stable chemical properties are expected to play an important role in large-sized molecule catalytic conversion and adsorption separation industrial applications.
